Dallas County Business Forecast:
Currently there are approximately 1.4 million people employed by 62 thousand business establishments in the Dallas County area. These establishments generate nearly $300 billion in revenues per year.
Compared to the state of Texas and to the nation as a whole, Dallas County has not faired particularly well. Over the past five years (2001-2005) Dallas County has experienced a moderate decline in employment and business activity.
For the period 2005 to 2010 RDA is expecting employment and business activity to stabilize and essentially remain constant over the period. This reflects a bottoming out of the County’s negative growth trend that began in 2004 and 2005. As a benchmark RDA Global is forecasting, for the same period, 9.7 percent growth in employment for the state of Texas and 7.6 percent growth in employment for the U.S. as a whole.
